Descend into Deepwell, choose a Vanguard, and defend the miners' evacuation against the Veyrketh.
This Windows demo includes the rescue mission, the first two combat waves, the miner evacuation hold, Hold the Drift survival mode, and Endless mode. Choose one of four operators and fight alongside the squad.
The build supports up to four players on one screen with local controllers. Online multiplayer and console and mobile versions are planned for the full game; they are not included in this demo.
Windows only. There is no macOS or Linux version of the demo.
Before you download
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- A graphics card that supports DirectX 12 with a current driver.
- About 8 GB of free space while extracting the approximately 3.5 GB download.
- Up to four local players can join with controllers at the operator selection screen.
Install and start
- Extract the complete downloaded archive. Do not launch the game from inside the archive.
- Open the extracted folder and run
PLAY_LASTSTAND.bat. - Choose PLAY for the rescue demo or ENDLESS for the endless survival mode.
This Windows build is unsigned. Windows may display a SmartScreen warning when it is first launched. Confirm that the file came from the official DarkWater Studios itch.io page before running it.
